True Leadership Harvest Centre (TLHC), XBCS’ N.G.O. partner in Nepal, is in need of a basic village stairway to their community training centre in Kavre District. As the centre is located in a hilly rural region, there is no proper road to the centre at the moment except bare footpaths. Access is hampered especially during the rainy season when these footpaths turn muddy and slippery. Several people, including village neighbours, have suffered falls when going up and down these earth tracks.

In view of this lack of basic infrastructure and as a one-time goodwill measure to build inter-NGO relations, we built a 1.5m wide, 32m long brick stairway along the steepest end of the common footpath leading to the training centre in Nov 2009.

TLHC was responsible to rally the involvement of the village neighbours and workers, coordinate the purchase and delivery of materials, monitor project expenses and ensure the proper construction and completion of the stairway. XBCS supports this initiative by supplying the funds needed.
