21 "Thank Yous" & Counting

KAVRE, NEPAL: POST QUAKE UPDATE One year after the quake, 21 targeted families in Nala and Opi have completed their house frames and almost half have done up their walls and moved in. 117 more households to go! Homeowner Sarsworti Tolange of Opi village (below) said she never dreamed she would get to live in a house with concrete foundation. Although she could only afford CGI sheets for walls, she is hopeful that one day her children will be able to improve on it. Indeed, a house provides not only security but also tangible hope for the future.

Widow Makhan Pariyar and her new one-room house in Nala had special help from us to build her walls using concrete blocks.

Mohan & Meena Pariyar have furnished their one-room house beautifully in Nala.

As co-workers & partners, we provide the house frame & homeowners do up their own walls.
