Completed Ahead of Time

NEPAL: MAYALPANI VILLAGE

PHASE 1 – SANITATION (100 TOILETS)

To our amazement and joy, the project was completed 4 months ahead of time!

For a community who largely feel neglected and disadvantaged by society, community development that ushers them from welfare to work could not have come at a more appropriate time! Within a short span of 4 months, 100 families joined hands to work together in realizing their dream of bringing proper sanitation to their village. This is way ahead of the projected duration of 8 months.

100 families participated in building their own eco-friendly, sustainable toilets

The villagers themselves are impressed with how much can be accomplished when they put their hearts and hands to a task. Their enthusiasm is now carrying them forward into the next challenge of securing safe drinking water for the community (Phase 2). Preliminary estimate is at S$100,000 and we plan to mobilize work by the end of this year.

In summary, the cost of Phase 1

Building 100 toilets: S$31,000
Empowering people to move from welfare to work: Priceless
