New House, New Life

KAVRE, NEPAL: REBUILDING UPDATE Our team has been making up for lost time right after the 6-month long Indian blockade ended in June 2016. 55 houses are completed to date and although this is a small drop in an ocean of housing needs (500,610 destroyed houses to be exact), they are not deterred by the enormous task and are plodding on bravely. Thanks to appreciative co-partners like Mr Lal Bahadur, Opi House #18, and Mdm Kanchi Tolange, Opi House #6, they make our modest efforts that much more meaningful and priceless.

Kanchi Tolange, Opi #6 managed to add a toilet beside her completed house.

The houses of 2 very needy beneficiaries (below) whom an anonymous donor is helping are completed!

Shanta Maya Shrestha, Nala #4

Nirmala Dahal, Nala #12. She and her family no longer need to live in a house with canvas walls.

Good news is we still have balance funds to help a third beneficiary widow Juna of Rabi village. Widows like Juna have less standing and resources in a village and thus find it exceptionally hard to make a living. After hearing her heartbreaking story, our team decided to disburse funds to help her. We hope this will give her the stability and encouragement to continue living and providing for her children. Our anonymous donor’s gift of 4,000 USD is really going a long way in making a difference. Thank you very much!
