Gavias Content Builder

The Gavias Content Builder is a theme module that allows to attach a layout on a page with drag and drop functionality.

What a Gavias Content Builder UI looks like

This content builder gives content authors greater control over layout. It ships with some pre-built and pre-designed 'content blocks'. You could, for example, construct a page with a number of sections, using rows. You can then add columns into your rows (of varying number from 1-12) and then you can insert or assign pre-built content 'blocks' inside the columns.

A great number of pages on the site were built using Gavias Content Builder. Some of these are...

- Home
- About
- Locations
- Get Involved
- Contact Us
- Stories

Build a Page Using Gavias Content Builder

1. Create content (either Basic page or Article) by going to Admin > Content > Add Content.

2. On the page's 'Edit' form, type in the Title

3. Skip the Body field

If it's an article (for stories) you are creating, make sure to fill out pertinent fields such as...

- Program
- Location
- Month and Year
- Post Category

4. Accomplish the meta settings on the sidebar (the Menu, URL Alias, etc.) as needed. Under 'Node Setting > Layout Settings', choose 'Fullwidth (no sidebar)' if you do not want your page to have a sidebar. Otherwise, you can leave at the default option of 'None'.

5. Now, back to the main 'Edit' area, just right under the 'Post Category' field, click on 'Add New Builder.'

6. A pop up edit form will show up. Type in the Title (Just repeat your page title) and the machine name. The machine name can be something derived from the page title, but must only contain lowercase letters and, in the place of spaces (between words), use an underscore instead.

Example of a machine name:

integra_cd

7. Click Submit

8. Now, a Gavias Content Builder is created and has been associated with your page. Before proceeding to actually creating the page using the content builder, Save your page first.

9. After saving your page, go back to the page's 'Edit' form.

10. At the bottom part of the page, you will find a set of Gavias Content Builder links. Look for the link that corresponds to the one you just created. It is the only highlighted link in the set and it comes with a selection of operations you can perform such as 'Edit', 'Duplicate', 'Import', 'Export', and 'Delete'.

11. For now, select and click on the 'Edit' operation.

The UI for the Content Builder will pop up on the page. (See image)

Next, 'Rows and Columns' to control layout.
